Axle Connect — Privacy
Effective 2026-09-09. Applies to the Axle connector for AI assistants (“the connector”), operated by Axle Foundation LLC.
What the connector is
The connector lets you use an AI assistant you already have, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to ask about Axle work available to your signed-in identity. Available records depend on the tool and your authorized relationships.
What we collect
- Your identity, from your own sign-in. With community sign-in, you authenticate at the Axle community. The connector receives a short-lived access token for your session and resolves who you are from it: your contact, your company and your active workforce seats. It does not receive your community password. With Work PIN sign-in, the connector processes your mobile number, Work PIN and verification code through Axle’s worker verification service to establish your identity.
- A record of the connection itself. The connector keeps a record that you connected, from which assistant, when, and how many questions you have asked. That record is what lets a connection be switched off.
- Operational logs. For each request the connector logs the request type, the resulting status, and which assistant family made it. It does not log the content of your questions, the answers, or any record identifiers.
- Photos you add. When you use a photo link, the photo is saved as a file on your own Axle record, exactly as adding it in the Axle app would. The connector does not keep a copy; the link stops working after fifteen minutes.
What we do not collect
- Your conversation with the assistant, its history, its memory, or files you have shared with it.
- Unrestricted access to other members’ data. Tools are limited by your identity and applicable Axle permissions; authorized records can include work involving other people or companies.
- Rates, costs or pay. No tool returns money fields.
How answers are produced
When you ask, the connector reads the relevant Axle records using your community session or Axle’s worker data service, and returns a summary to your assistant. The connector does not keep a copy of those records. Your assistant provider (for example Anthropic for Claude or OpenAI for ChatGPT) receives the answer as part of your conversation, under that provider's own terms and privacy policy.
Retention
- Your community session is encrypted before it is stored, with a key held only by this connector, and it expires automatically after a few hours. It is deleted when you disconnect. The connector never stores your community password — it never sees it.
- The connection record in Axle is retained after disconnection. An active connection is marked cancelled with an end date; a suspended connection keeps its suspended status. Disconnecting does not delete that history or its usage counters.
- Operational logs are retained by our hosting provider for a limited period and then discarded.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. The assistant provider you connect receives the answers needed for your requests. Our hosting and data-store providers process data on our behalf under contract.
Your choices
- Disconnect at any time from your assistant's connector settings. The token is revoked immediately.
- A connection can be switched off at your company's request. If it is, the connector refuses further requests and says so plainly.
